Brisbane · CPA-qualified · Registered Tax Agents
Small business accountant in your corner.
One accountant for the structure conversation, the BAS, the payroll, the year-end return and the phone call in March when something unexpected happens.
What should a small business accountant do for you?
Beyond lodging returns, a small business accountant should get your structure right, keep BAS, PAYG and super lodged on time, produce numbers you can price and plan from, and tell you the tax consequence of a decision before you make it. For most Brisbane small businesses that means a fixed monthly fee covering bookkeeping, BAS, payroll and year-end, with advice included rather than metered.

FAQ
Questions we're asked most.
How much does a small business accountant cost in Brisbane?
Fixed monthly packages from $220 for a GST-registered sole trader, from $450 for a company including year-end statements and the tax return, and from $650 with payroll for up to ten staff. One-off work — a company setup, a catch-up quarter, a structure review — is quoted separately so you can see exactly what each item costs.
At what point should I incorporate?
The tax rate answer says once profits consistently exceed what you need to live on, because retained profits in a company are taxed at 25% or 30% rather than personal marginal rates. But rate isn't the only factor: liability exposure, contracts requiring a company, plans to bring in partners, and the ongoing ASIC and compliance cost all matter. We model your actual numbers rather than applying a threshold.
Do you work with my bookkeeper?
Yes. Many clients keep their bookkeeper for day-to-day entry and use us for BAS review, compliance, year-end and advice. We're certified in Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks and work in your existing file.
I'm behind on everything. Where do we start?
With your ATO account: what's outstanding, what's owed, what's accruing. Then bookkeeping reconstruction, lodgements in sequence, penalty remission where there's a reasonable explanation, and a payment arrangement if needed. It's routine work and it's better done now than after a director penalty notice arrives.
Can I claim my home office and vehicle?
Usually some of it. Home office is claimable at the 70c-per-hour fixed rate (with a record of actual hours) or by actual cost apportionment. Vehicle claims need a log book to claim actual business-use costs, or you can use cents-per-kilometre up to 5,000km. If the vehicle is owned by a company or trust and used privately, FBT enters the picture — which is a conversation worth having before you buy.
