Bookkeeping that the return can be built on.

Reconciled, correctly coded, BAS-ready books — kept by registered BAS Agents in the same practice that prepares your return, so nothing gets reconciled twice.

Fixed fees quoted upfrontTPB-registeredBrisbane-wide, remote or in person

What does a bookkeeper actually do, and how is it different from an accountant?

A bookkeeper records and reconciles the transactions — bank feeds, invoices, bills, payroll, GST coding — and prepares the file so it's accurate month to month. A registered BAS Agent can also prepare and lodge your BAS and manage GST, PAYG withholding and Single Touch Payroll obligations. An accountant works one level up: financial statements, the tax return, structure, and advice. We do both under one roof, on a fixed monthly fee, which removes the handover gap where most errors and duplicated fees live.

  • Fixed monthly packages from $220
  • Registered BAS Agents — extended BAS due dates
  • Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks certified
  • Catch-up and cleanup work quoted separately

Small business — which page?

Three overlapping needs, three pages. Most business clients end up using all three services.

Why us

What you get working with us.

BAS-ready every month

GST coding checked as we go, so quarterly BAS is a review rather than a three-week reconstruction.

One team to year-end

The people keeping your books prepare your BAS and your company return — no duplicated data entry, no finger-pointing.

Cleanup done once, properly

Suspense accounts cleared, GST recoded, duplicate payroll removed, fixed asset register rebuilt — with an explanation of what caused each issue.

Numbers you can price from

Monthly P&L with comparatives and job or product tracking, not a shoebox reckoning in October.

FAQ

Questions we're asked most.

How much does a bookkeeper cost in Brisbane?

Hourly bookkeepers typically charge $45–$90 an hour, which makes budgeting impossible and rewards slow work. We price monthly instead: from $220 for a GST-registered sole trader, $390 for a small company including BAS, and $590 with payroll for up to ten staff. Catch-up and cleanup are quoted separately so you can see exactly what the backlog costs versus the ongoing service.

Do I need a bookkeeper, an accountant, or both?

If you're GST-registered with employees, you need both functions — but not necessarily two providers. Bookkeeping keeps the data right; accounting turns it into compliance and advice. Splitting them across two firms means paying twice for the same reconciliation and losing a month at year-end while files are exchanged. Combining them is usually cheaper and always faster.

Can you work with a virtual or offshore bookkeeper we already use?

Yes, and we often do — we review, correct and lodge from their file. What we won't do is sign off a BAS on a file we can't verify. If the data quality isn't there, we'll say so with specifics rather than quietly absorbing the risk.

Is a virtual bookkeeper as good as someone on site?

For almost every small business, yes — better, usually, because bank feeds, document capture and cloud software removed the reason to be on site. What matters is whether the person is a registered BAS Agent, whether they reconcile properly, and whether they tell you when something looks wrong. Location doesn't affect any of those.

Our books are two years behind. Is that a problem?

It's routine. We reconstruct from bank data and source documents, lodge the outstanding BAS in sequence, and where there's a reasonable explanation apply for penalty remission. Getting current also restores access to agent lodgement concessions — which is worth real money in itself.

Which software do you recommend?

Xero for most small businesses, MYOB where payroll or inventory is complex, QuickBooks where price matters most. We're certified in all three and will happily work in the one you already have — configuration matters far more than brand.
