What does a business accountant handle for a Brisbane SME?

Ongoing business accounting covers the recurring obligations that carry deadlines and penalties: bookkeeping and bank reconciliation, quarterly or monthly BAS (GST and PAYG withholding), payroll with Single Touch Payroll reporting and superannuation guarantee at 12%, management reporting, and year-end financial statements and tax returns. We work inside Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks on a fixed monthly fee.

  • Fixed monthly packages from $220
  • Registered BAS Agents — extended BAS due dates
  • Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks certified
  • Monthly reporting you can act on

Small business — which page?

Three overlapping needs, three pages. Most business clients end up using all three services.

Why us

Why Brisbane clients choose us for business accounting.

Deadlines never sneak up

BAS, IAS, STP finalisation, super guarantee and year-end all sit on a managed calendar with reminders that start before the due date.

Numbers you can decide from

Monthly profit and loss, margin by revenue stream and a cash-flow view — not a year-old set of accounts.

Super and payroll done right

Superannuation guarantee at 12%, quarterly deadlines, STP Phase 2 categories, and award-rate sanity checks. Unpaid super is one of the few costs that is never deductible.

One team through to the return

The people doing your bookkeeping prepare your BAS and your company return, so nothing is reconciled twice or missed between providers.

FAQ

Business Accounting — questions we're asked most.

How much does business accounting cost in Brisbane?

Fixed monthly packages start at $220 for a GST-registered sole trader (bookkeeping plus quarterly BAS) and $450 for a company including year-end financial statements and the tax return. Payroll for up to ten staff adds from $200/month. We quote after reviewing your file so the number reflects actual transaction volume, not a guess.

When is BAS due?

Quarterly BAS is due 28 October, 28 February, 28 April and 28 July. Lodging through a registered BAS or Tax Agent generally adds about four weeks to those dates (excluding the December quarter, which already has an extended date). Monthly lodgers report by the 21st of the following month.

Can you fix a messy Xero file?

Yes — it's a large part of our onboarding work. Typical repairs: unreconciled bank feeds, GST coded on GST-free supplies, personal spending sitting in business expenses, duplicated payroll entries and a suspense account that's been growing for years. We quote cleanup separately from ongoing work so you can see what each costs.

Do you handle payroll and superannuation?

Yes: pay runs, payslips, leave, STP Phase 2 reporting, super guarantee (currently 12%) and end-of-year finalisation. We flag award-rate and classification risks when we see them, though industrial relations advice itself is a job for a workplace relations specialist.

We're behind on BAS and bookkeeping — can you help?

Routinely. We reconstruct the books, lodge the outstanding BAS in order, and where warranted request penalty remission and set up a payment plan with the ATO. Getting lodgements current also restores access to agent deadline concessions.

Do we have to switch software?

No. We're certified in Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks and work in whichever you already use. We only recommend switching when the current system genuinely can't do what your business needs — for example, no payroll capability or no inventory tracking.
